Too many founders then go and find the best salesperson and hope that will be successful.  Many, many salespeople interview well but then do not deliver.  Founders tend to look in the wrong place for the wrong thing and then leave them to fail.  What do I mean?

The wrong place - any job board. They place an advertisement and then interview people with lots of experience, after all, they aren't in sales themselves. This process tends to find people that have had some experience but is it the experience that is required to boost your revenue?  

The wrong thing - don't try to find someone that is extroverted and can tell everyone about your solution.  The best salespeople are business curious.  They ask lots of questions during the interview.  Most average salespeople talk about themselves and what they have done.

Leave them to fail.  Salespeople need a structure to be successful.
